The station as seen 2nd August 1976, the signal box has been demolished and the waiting room on platform 2 stands in ruins.

A view of the station taken in the 1980`s, to the left of the picture can be seen one of the original gas lamp posts which was converted to electricity by British Railways in the 1950`s.

Another view taken in the 1980`s

Restoration begins, here we see the trenches dug for laying drains, water pipes and electricity cables.

In the waiting room the wooden floor was found to be rotten, the decision was taken to remove it completely and replace it with a solid concrete floor. In the picture on the left we can see the original floor in situ and above the same spot after it was removed.

Here is the waiting room after the floor was removed, the paintwork in the left hand picture is from British Railways days.

The replacement signal box takes shape, the wooden window framing was recovered from a redundant signal box at Haughton Sidings which was between Shrewsbury and Gobowen.

The dismantled waiting room from Weston Sub Edge was delivered to Carrog and used to reconstruct the remains on platform 2.
